Peopoly Moai Leveling:

Peopoly leveling are of 2 types: 

  1. Level checking and Adjustment 
  2. Full rest of Levels

What is Leveling and Why it is needed:

Leveling determines how better the object can stick with the build plate on all axes. When the leveling is good, build plate when exerts pressure during initial layers will make the object stick strongly to the build plate resulting in a successful print. 

Once the leveling is set, rarely it needs the correction again. Also, to check the build plate pressure, 4 cylinders in all 4 corners are printed and their heights are measured. Height of the cylinder determines the pressure, the shorter the cylinder height higher the pressure of the build platform. 

For Peoploly Moai the recommended cylinder height should be 10.6-10.8mm with PDMS and 10.5-10.9mm with FEP Vat Resin. 

Steps for Level Checking and Adjustment:

  1. Follow the above procedure and try to manually adjust levels as much possible. Set the Z reset position to 1877
  2. If you are using 3rd party resin, download this gcode file and upload this to printer via SD card. You may also need .STL file which can be downloaded here.
  3. Ensure the room temperature above 20C 
  4. Laser power should be set to 58 for Peopoly Resin’s.

Setup:

It is often recommended to replace the resin tray when worked with 2 litres of resin with other SLA devices. But Peopoly Moai asks you to replace the resin tray only after using 4 litres of resin. That is to say the durability of the resin tray in a SLA 3D printer can be doubled with Peopoly Moai.  

The resin tray fetches around $55 in the market. However, the consumable cost of the  Peopoly Moai printer is always clinged along with its maintenance, but still it is cheaper in contrast to other SLA devices.

Print Quality:
