A powerful device with a large construction volume, it comes with functions for a trouble free printing experience. This machine is developed to stand tall against the top 3D printers.

The Anycubic Vyper 3D Printer is aimed for people searching for a trustworthy 3D printer, but not for someone buying their first system. It comes with a list price of $359.

The Anycubic Vyper’s 32-bit mainboard is outfitted with ultra-quiet stepper drivers. Thus the printer’s sole audible sound comes from the fans on top of the hot end for cooling.

These cooling fans blow a gush of air, which gets the printer to deposit print material and quickly cool it.  This is faster than those available on competing printers such as the Ender 3 Pro from Creality.

A sturdy drive system is provided by the twin-gear extruder, which minimizes slipping of filament or peeling away.

Anycubic Vyper 3D Printer

The Anycubic Vyper 3D printer from Anycubic has some excellent features as described below:

a) Compact Design

The design of the Anycubic Vyper may be quite inspiring.  Yet, Anycubic decided to outperform the competition on the basis of construction volume.

It has a print volume of 245mm x 245mm x 260 mm, which is significantly bigger than that of the Ender 3 V2 as well as the CR-6 SE. The printer thus transforms into a 3D printer in the medium to large range. Anycubic Vyper fulfills most of the demands of the creative users that are limited by other compact printers. 

Yet this is something that does not require a bigger 3D printer.

b) Automatic Bed Leveling

A smart multi-graded leveling system is what makes the Anycubic Vyper Intelligent. This adjusts for any irregularity of the print bed. 

Using the nozzle as a probe, a strain gauge senses any kind of obstructions in the print bed. It also records the contact points.

The printer also comes with lead screws for the Z-axis featuring switches with photoelectric limit. 

These allow for a more coordinated motion and robust Z-axis operation. Furthermore, when focusing on the hotbed, the switches take care of any deviations automatically.

c) Detachable Magnetic Spring Steel Bed 

Anycubic favors a detachable magnetic sheet made of spring steel for the Anycubic Vyper. This is interesting as in earlier models, it was using the Ultrabase print bed made of textured glass.

The spring steel coated surface, according to the manufacturer, does not deform under high thermal stress.  It also allows for print adhesion without the use of glue. 

Remove the plate from the printer, twist it, and the prints will come right off. Only when the prints melt, using the scraper to remove them, can damage the surface. 

d) Bigger Touchscreen

Until now, 3D printers from the Anycubic stable used considerably smaller touchscreens. And this when other budget printers continue using scroll wheels.

With the Anycubic Vyper 3D Printer, the company has introduced a color touchscreen which is 4.3 inches big. The User Interface is totally new and can deliver a simpler and neater print management. 

e) Motherboard with Power

A more complex functioning requires more power. Here is where the 32-bit motherboard packed with the ARM Cortex-M3 processor comes to the rescue.

The configuration enables the Anycubic Vyper with rapid computing rates and operations that run smoothly.

The TMC2209 ultra-silent stepper drivers ensure all of this happens silently. Yet, the printer’s fans, used for cooling, make a lot of noise.

f) Twin Fans for Print Head

To dissipate the heat on the print head, the Anycubic Vyper comes with a set of two fans. The rapid cooling of the print layers makes sure the printer functions faster without creating any print defects.

g) Extruder with Twin Gears

The twin-geared extruder from Bowden is a great help in filament feeding. This applies to even materials as flexible as the TPU.

h) Auto-Resume and Detect Filament Run-out

This feature should be included with every printer! When the Anycubic Vyper has no filament to use or in case of a power outage, it will automatically pause printing. 

And once the power is back or new filament introduced, the printing resumes from where it left off. 

This offers time saving and reduces wastage of materials.

i) Built-in Toolbox 

There is an integrated toolbox drawer in the Anycubic Vyper. Here, one may keep tools such as clippers, Allen keys, and some other tools. But, the drawer does not close, which is upsetting.

j) Tensioner for Belts 

The tensioners for the belts on the Anycubic Vyper are unique in comparison to the standard ones used on other 3D printers. Users will need to use a hex wrench to fasten the belts by turning the little screw within the belt tensioners. 

That looks simple but it is not. But it’s possible that this will prevent users from tightening the belts too much.

k) Touch enabled 4.3-inch Screen 

The Anycubic Vyper has a vertically mounted 4.3-inch touch enabled screen on its right side. This is similar to the ones on printers such as the CR-6 SE, but with a different chassis and custom firmware.

The UI is simple and interactive, yet the white color theme does not look appealing. Aside from that, the tiny fonts make for more difficult reading than other touchscreens. 

Over the screen, there seems to be an improperly installed protector for the screen.

l) 32-bit TriGorilla+ V0.0.6 Board with Quiet Stepper Drivers

Quiet stepper drivers and a 32 Bit proprietary board is what powers the Anycubic Vyper. Yet, for reasons unknown, the stepper drivers are louder than the ones on other printers. 

The noise may not seem very audible and yet some movements can be heard when printing.

As the TMC2209 stepper drivers are not replaceable, one will have to get a new board, if one of the stepper drivers fails. 

There is no other alternative replacement for the board at the moment. The CR-6 SE board cannot be used either due to the location of the SD card.

The Anycubic Vyper 3D Printer was a big hit, with a lot of people picking them up as soon as they became available. Despite mixed reviews, the 3D printer is worth purchasing. Mainly due to the brand reputation and thoughtful design features.

There is space for improvement to address some of the minor shortcomings. Yet, the Anycubic Vyper appears to be a worthwhile choice for people looking for a brand new 3D printer.
